Michel MORTIER

France (1925-2015)

From 1940 to 1945, Michel Mortier studied at École des Arts Appliqués in Paris. In 1946 with his teacher Etienne-Henri Martin, Michel Mortier worked in the interior design department, Bon Marché department store in Brussels. From 1955 to 1960, Mortier worked in Marcel Gascoin’s workshop. Subsequently, with Pierre Guariche and Joseph-André Motte, he founded the group ARP. Michel Mortier worked on 1967 “exposition universelle et Internationale Montreal” and taught at Institute of Applied Arts in Montreal. Mortier returning to Paris, he worked form MFI (Meubles et Fonctions International) on office and other furniture. He taught at École des Arts Appliqués, École Nationale Superieure des Arts Décoratifs, École Camondo and Met de Penningen, all in Paris. Michel Mortier received René Gabriel Prizes at Triennale di Milano.
