STILNOVO

STILNOVO (éditeur)

Italy

With hourglass shapes which directly refers to Christian Dior’s “New Look” fashion, and their circular details, pieces produced by Stilnovo are representative of Italian mid-century lights. Stilnovo operates at times where the functional idea is combining with the beginning of new materials to produce sober and innovative shapes. The trademark of the company is the use of brass and copper. Often compared to Arteluce, which, under the supervision of Gino Sarfatti explored abstraction, Stilnovo is well known for its organic lines. At the source increasingly experimental lights, designed by Joe Colombo and Ettore Sottsass among others, the Stilnovo company is still considered nowadays as a reference in Italian historical design.
