John KEAL

USA (1920 - )

John Keal is one of the representatives of the American design of the middle of the 20th century. Based in Los Angeles throughout the fifties, he joined the circle of gifted contemporary designers such as Paul Frankl, Paul Lazlo and Gilbert Rhode. Their motto “Live in the Modern Move” is an invitation to boldness, urging people to live with design pieces of their times. Their production, made possible thanks to the US furniture editor Brown-Saltman during the 1950s, contributes to develop a minimalist design for everyday items.
