Close to Jean Derval, Jacque Louis Sagan became part of the new wave of artists from Vallauris in the beginning of the fifties. Gathered around Picasso, they aim to develop artistic ceramic. Sagan creates freely, modeling clay according to his preferences. He has excellent technical skills and constantly extends his knowledge on colors, enamels and forms. He’s been distinguished from his peers from Vallauris because of the shiny finish of his pieces due to his expertise in baking process.
