Alain RICHARD

FRANCE (1926-2017)

Alain Richard is trained by René Gabriel at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs where he became valedictorian in 1949. Settled in Holland in the beginning of the fifties, he notably works with Henri Salomson. In 1952, Richard participates to various public projects: Orly airport, Crédit Agricole, Banque de France and RATP (Auber station) and found his agency with his wife, Jacqueline Iribe. At that time, he also collaborates with André Monpoix et draws furniture design produced by Vecchione and Meubles TV. Alain Richard received Milan triennale award and René Gabriel prize, amongst other rewards. He also designed several pieces for Mobilier National in the seventies.
